The Minister of Finance has instructed the Directorate General for Taxation (DGT) to improve the effectiveness of its law enforcement actions to yield a greater contribution to the nation’s tax revenue collection effort. The Minister has also called for a revitalization of tax audits and criminal investigations with the goal to substantially improve the level of tax compliance and to generate a sustainable growth in tax revenue.
