Christiandy Sanjaya: Tax for Development

The Deputy Governor of West Kalimantan, Christiandy Sanjaya said that the calls from Nahdatul Ulama (NU) to stop paying taxes should be comprehendly understood. It has to be seen as that NU wanted to declare war on corruption that occurred within the Directorate General of Taxes, Christiandy Sanjaya continued.

It does not mean that we do not pay taxes thou, because if we did not pay taxes, government functions will not running," said Christiandy earlier. Because the Government requires taxes to carry out development in various sectors. And thanks to public who pays taxes so that the development process could sustained.

However, the issue is that the unscrupulous tax officer who committed the corruption. This is what we all, including NU, are trying to combat and eradicate. It is the message that NU trying to deliver. Taxes come from the people, therefore it should have to be perceived by the public in the form of development, "he said.

In particular, further Christiandy, the obligation to pay taxes is already very clear for Christian. The Bible scriptures stated that “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s”. So in the religion point of view, it has been very clear.

Again, he emphasized that, “It is fighting the corruption, what NU wanted".

In all, Christiandy hopes that Directorate General of Taxes more stringent in supervising people's money. Because, the community is getting smarter, currently. They wants their tax money could be used for the development to the fullest.
